"The Apple Reigns"

In spring 2024, my colleague, the Dortmund sculptor and artist Robert Kaller, and I participated in a public competition organized by the city of Maintal to design the geographical center to mark the city's 50th anniversary. We ultimately prevailed against 45 competitors in a referendum.

After three months of construction, the artwork was ceremoniously inaugurated and handed over to the citizens on September 27, 2024.

Many citizens told us in personal conversations that they had the feeling the sculpture had always been there, as it blends so simply and harmoniously into the cityscape.

The participation of students and residents in the mosaic work also makes the work of art a work of art for everyone.
